ADGP Jammu reviews crime, law & order of Samba district
CCTNS lab, reviews functioning of Police Station Samba/Women Cell Samba
JAMMU, 10 February 2024: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Jammu Anand Jain on Saturday visited district Samba and held a crime review meeting at Conference Hall DPO Samba which was attended by ASP Samba, ASP SDPO Mukand Tibrewal, IPS, all Supervisory Officers, SHOs and Incharge Police Posts of district Samba.
Thereafter, ADGP Jammu started Police Station wise crime review with main thrust on the disposal of pending cases. During the meeting, disposal of cases registered during the current year and pending cases of the previous year was reviewed. The Supervisory Officers and Investigating Officers presented in the meeting were given detailed instructions to improve the quality of investigation and gear up the disposal of pending cases.
During the meeting, emphasis was laid on heinous crime cases, thefts and burglary cases and directions were issued to work out these cases on priority. Threadbare discussion was made in NDPS cases and the investigating officers were directed to work out backward & forward linkage to expose the narco-nexus and to increase conviction in these cases.
Cases registered under UAPA were also reviewed and necessary directions were issued for their disposal.5. Besides this, bovine smuggling cases and preventive measures were discussed in length during the meeting. All the Supervisory Officers/SHOs/IC PPs were directed to launch a special drive for the arrest of absconders and tracing out of missing persons. Directions were issued to dispose-off pending inquest proceedings on merits.
ADGP Jammu directed all supervisory officers to conduct regular crime meetings with the investigating officers to make flawless investigation of the cases and to bring these cases to their logical conclusion. He also directed the SDPOs/SHOs to improve the Police Beat System to bring more work efficiency in Police functioning.
