ADM Ansuya Jamwal calls on NGOs to strengthen fight against drug abuse
JAMMU, APRIL 11: Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Jammu Ansuya Jamwal on Friday chaired a meeting with representatives of various NGOs, urging them to vigorously contribute towards promotion of ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan’ launched by the Government.

Addressing the participants, the ADM highlighted the crucial role NGOs play in spreading awareness by reaching the public directly. She assured that the District Administration would provide resource persons to support the NGOs in conducting awareness campaigns in different localities.
ADM Jamwal stressed that while the administration continues to organise events across the district, NGOs should also take proactive steps to engage the public at the grassroots level. She encouraged them to interact with people in neighbourhoods, educate them about the ill effects of drug abuse and help in building a more informed and vigilant society.
She further encouraged the NGOs to inform the administration about drug addicts and suspicious elements involved in the drug supply chain. She assured complete confidentiality and appropriate action against the perpetrators with the support of the police and concerned agencies.
The ADM invited suggestions from NGOs for a sustained and coordinated fight against drug abuse. The District Administration reiterated its full support to all genuine initiatives aimed at making Jammu a drug-free district.
The meeting was part of the larger strategy under the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan’ to mobilise all sections of society in the campaign against drug addiction.
