Advisor Bhatnagar addresses ‘G-20 University Connect; Engaging Young Minds’ lecture series at SKICC
SRINAGAR, April 10: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today addressed the lecture series ‘G-20 University Connect; Engaging Young Minds’ at SKICC here.
The lecture series was organised by Central University Of Kashmir (CUK) in association with Ministry of External Affairs and Research and Information System for Developing Countries.
Addressing the huge gathering of scholars, educators, professors and large number of students, Advisor Bhatnagar said that it is a matter of pride for the entire nation that our country is holding G20 presidency, adding that India is on the path of becoming world leader. He added that the main objective of the country-wide G20 programmes is to engage the people and youth as brand ambassadors to spread awareness regarding India’s role in world.
Advisor said that the theme of India’s G20 Presidency – “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (One Earth-One Family-One Future) affirms the value of all life -human, animal, plant and microorganisms and their interconnectedness on the planet Earth and in the wider universe. He added that the G20 Presidency also marks the beginning of “Amritkaal, the 25-year period beginning from the 75th anniversary of its independence on 15 August 2022, leading up to the centenary of its independence, towards a futuristic, prosperous, inclusive and developed society, distinguished by a human-centric approach at its core.
Advisor Bhatnagar further remarked that India’s G20 Presidency is a sign of the country’s recognition as a global economic and political power. He added that under India’s presidency, the country will seek to bolster the G20’s status and authority as the premier global forum for cooperation on global economic and financial issues with a focus on climate change and sustainable development.
Speaking in the significance of lecture series, Advisor Bhatnagar said that the youth are the future of the world and their power should be harnessed in all domains. He added that this lecture series focused on engaging young minds in the G-20 countries. “The lecture series aimed to bring together scholars and experts from various fields to discuss the importance of global education and research collaboration among universities”, Advisor Bhatnagar said.
Former Ambassador and Professor Emeritus and Director international Relations, Sushant University Gurugram, Ambassador J.S Mukul; Professor, Centre for Canadian United States, and Latin American Studies, School of International Studies, JNU, Professor Arvind Kumar and Vice Chancellor CUK, Professor A Ravinder Nath also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion, Advisor Bhatnagar also distributed prizes among the students who excelled in different competitions of the G20 University Connect.
Among others, Vice Chancellors of other universities, faculty members, senior functionaries of CUK and students were also present on the occasion.
Pertinently, Ministry of External Affairs had designated 75 universities, across the country to hold different activities under the G-20 University Connect Programmes, and the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) being was one among them, organised more than 35 programmes till date under the series.
