Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal Announces Ayushman Bhav Campaign and Transformative Healthcare Initiatives
Leh, September 11, 2023 – The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is set to launch the Ayushman Bhav Campaign on September 13, 2023, with a virtual event attended by dignitaries from national to village levels. This comprehensive healthcare initiative aims to enhance healthcare access and awareness across India and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, focusing on “Healthy Villages.” It seeks to make healthcare services, education, and support accessible to all segments of society, ensuring good health as a fundamental right.
The Ayushman Bhav Campaign comprises three key components: Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Mela, and Ayushman Sabha. Successful implementation will lead to the recognition of Gram Panchayats and Urban Wards as “Ayushman Gram Panchayat” or “Ayushman Urban Ward,” marking the achievement of essential health indicators.
Additionally, the campaign will include Swachhta Abhiyan, Organ Donation Pledge Drives, and Blood Donation Camps from September 17, 2023, to October 2, 2023. The launch event on September 13, 2023, will feature a nationwide virtual inauguration by the Hon’ble President of India, with state and district-level events to ensure broad outreach and awareness.
Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal chaired a ground Secretariat meeting to unveil transformative healthcare initiatives for Ladakh’s residents. Key highlights include the Ayushman Bhav Campaign, Seva Pakhwada (17th Sep to 2nd Oct ’23), Swachhta Abhiyaan, Blood Donation Camps, Organ Donation Pledge Drives, Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Mela, Sabhas, ASHA Training. and various launch events. The campaign will be phased, starting at different levels, with full-scale work commencing on September 17.
The meeting emphasized aligning the campaign with central schemes and directives for successful implementation, with the objective of achieving 100 percent coverage for golden card enrollment by December 31, 2023.
Key stakeholders, including Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar, Commissioner/Secretary Padma Angmo, Secretary Amit Sharma, Deputy Commissioners, and healthcare officials, attended the ground Secretariat meeting, marking a pivotal step in launching these vital healthcare initiatives for Ladakh’s residents.
