Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal chairs a meeting of Governing Body under Samagra “Yountan Society” UT Ladakh
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Advisor Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal to discuss developments made under Samagra Shiksha scheme and address key issues.
Ladakh: Director, School Education Department, Tsering Paldan, through a presentation, highlighted Samagra Shiksha, an integrated scheme under the School Education Department that has merged three significant initiatives: the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), and Teacher Education (TE). Samagra Shiksha’s primary objective is to provide quality education to all children in an equitable and inclusive learning environment.
To efficiently implement this scheme in the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Yountan Society has been registered as a single implementing agency. The society is tasked with engaging qualified, eligible, and reputable organizations or service providers to facilitate and support the recruitment and selection process for various posts under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
During the meeting, several key issues were discussed, particularly regarding the recruitment of additional contractual manpower. Discussions were held on the relaxation of existing hiring criteria particularly in terms of experience, the need for additional employees, and the retention of the current workforce so that envisioned goals of the scheme can be realised efficiently. Additionally, the Advisor emphasized the importance of strictly adhering to the recruitment guidelines to ensure a transparent selection process.
A follow-up meeting will be held to further deliberate on these issues and ensure the smooth implementation of the Samagra Shiksha scheme in Ladakh.
The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary, School Education, Sanjeev khirwar; Commissioner Secretary, Hr. Edu/ Tech Edu; Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve; Deputy Commissioner Kargil Srikant Balasaheb Suse; Director Finance, Dr Safdar Ali; Director School Education Department Tsering Paldan, and other concerned officials.
The officials stationed outside attended the meeting virtually.
