Advisor Ladakh Dr Kotwal chairs Empowered Committee Meeting on Recruitment Rules; Committee Recommends various amendments
Leh,11 September 2024: – Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, chaired the 32nd Empowered Committee meeting on the framing and review of Recruitment Rules for various Gazetted and Non-Gazetted posts of the UT Administration.
The meeting discussed various amendment proposals and mapping of posts to various establishments submitted by the departments for consideration of the Empowered Committee. The amendment proposals submitted by the Technical Education Department, Social welfare Department Agriculture Department, Drug Control Organization were recommended by the Empowered Committee for seeking approval of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor. Besides, the Empowered Committee also recommended the Staffing Regulations proposed by the Ladakh Autonomous Councils to be filled by deputation from relevant departments of UT Administration.
The meeting also covered the mapping of posts as proposed by the Technical Education Department, Fisheries Department, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department, Industries and Commerce Department, Public Health Engineering Department, and Finance Department. The Advisor commended the departments of the UT Administration for their efforts in post mapping and stated that this is a commendable practice adopted by the UT Administration to ensure proper accounting of posts.
The meeting involved detailed discussions on key aspects of the recruitment process, including amendments and standardization, addressing vacancies, simplifying the recruitment process, regular monitoring and reporting, timely completion of recruitment, and mapping of gazetted and non-gazetted posts in different departments. During the meeting, the Administrative Secretaries provided updates on the progress of recruitment rules and regulations for gazetted and non-gazetted posts, along with vacancies to be filled within their respective departments.
The Advisor emphasized the importance of a fair, transparent, and timely recruitment process to improve governance and service delivery in Ladakh. The Advisor emphasised that the administration is committed to conducting all recruitment processes, for both gazetted and non-gazetted posts, with the highest level of integrity, keeping in mind the welfare and progress of the people of Ladakh.
