Advisor UT Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal Leads Meeting to Review Annual Implementation Plan, Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) for the Year 2024-25

LEH, February 02: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal chaired a meeting to review the Annual Implementation Plan for the Year 2024-25, Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II of the Rural Development Department, at the Civil Secretariat, Leh.

The session primarily focused on the meticulous review of the Annual Implementation Plan for the fiscal year 2024-25 and the upcoming Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II initiated by the Rural Development Department.

At the outset of the meeting, the Director of the Rural Development Department, UT Ladakh Syed Sajjad Qadri delivered a comprehensive presentation, outlining the details of the Annual Implementation Plan for the Year 2024-25 and shedding light on the essential Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II. The detailed insights provided a foundation for robust discussions among the gathered officials and stakeholders. He also shed light on the plan for the Financial Year 2023-24 and the achievements of the Year 2023-24.

The Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal emphasized the necessity of a participatory approach, encouraging collaboration between government bodies, local authorities, and community representatives to ensure the success of developmental initiatives. Dr Pawan Kotwal highlighted the importance of this mission in promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and overall well-being in rural areas. He commended the efforts of the Rural Development Department in advancing the mission’s objectives and stressed the need for sustained efforts to achieve lasting impact.

During the deliberations, emphasis was placed on the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II, an integral component of the Rural Development Department’s agenda. The mission aims to build on the successes of the first phase and further enhance sanitation and hygiene standards in rural areas, contributing to the overall well-being of the local populace.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by Ladakh’s unique terrain and climatic conditions, the meeting explored innovative solutions and adaptive strategies to overcome obstacles. Dr Pawan Kotwal reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to addressing the region’s developmental needs with a holistic and sustainable approach. As the meeting concluded, Dr Pawan Kotwal expressed confidence in the dedication of all stakeholders involved and reiterated the administration’s resolve to expedite the implementation of the Annual Implementation Plan for the Year 2024-25 and the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Leh; Director of Rural Development Department, UT Ladakh; Director of Finance Department, UT Ladakh; Executive Engineer of PDD, Leh; Under Secretary of Rural Development Department, UT Ladakh; officials of the concerned departments, while Deputy Commissioner, Kargil; ACD, Leh; and officials of the concerned departments from Kargil joined the meeting virtually.
