After old Rajinder Nagar incident, Gurugram Municipal Corporation seals 3 coaching centres operating in basement
Gurugram (Haryana) [India], August 3 (ANI): Following the basement incident in Delhi, where three UPSC aspirants lost their lives, the Gurugram Municipal Corporation has taken major action to prevent such incidents from occurring in the area and sealed three coaching centres operating in basement on Saturday.
According to an official release, the enforcement teams have started inspecting and taking action against coaching centres operating in basements in all four zones.
As per the official release, the teams also sealed three coaching centres operating in basements in Old DLF, Krishna Colony, and Khandsa Road.
The Municipal Commissioner of Gurugram, Narhari Singh Bangar, immediately took cognizance of the Delhi incident and directed the joint commissioners of the four zones to launch a special campaign to inspect coaching centres operating in basements within the municipal area and to take action to seal them if found violating regulations.
Following the commissioner’s instructions, all joint commissioners have directed their respective enforcement teams to take action.
In compliance with the instructions, on Saturday, enforcement teams in Zone-1 and Zone-2 areas, led by Assistant Engineer Sanjog Sharma, initiated action. The teams inspected areas and instructed the operators of coaching centres in basements to bring their building plans and operational approval documents to the municipal office on Monday.
Similarly, in Zone-3, under the leadership of Assistant Engineer Rakesh June, the enforcement team inspected areas like Saraswati Vihar, Sector-42, DLF Phase-4, Sushant Lok-1, Sector-44, Sushant Lok-2, and Sector-55.
The team instructed the concerned parties to submit their approval documents at the municipal office on Monday. Further action will be taken if violations are found after inspecting these documents.
Additionally, in Zone-4, the enforcement team led by Assistant Engineer Krishna Kumar inspected areas such as Naharpur Rupa, Narsinghpur, Fazilpur, Badshahpur, Begumpur Khatola, Bhondsi, Ullawas, Maidawas, and Kadarpur.
According to the Municipal Commissioner of Gurugram, a campaign is being conducted to inspect coaching centres operating in basements to prevent incidents like the one in Delhi from occurring in Gurugram.
“This matter is related to the safety of children, so no negligence will be tolerated. Any coaching centre found violating standards will be sealed,” he said.
