Agriculture Department Kupwara organizes live-streaming of Release of 13th installment of PM Kisan
100457 FOFs registered on portal in district, Rs199 crore transferred under PM Kisan till now
KUPWARA, February 27: Agriculture Department Kupwara today organised a live- stream to witness the release function of 13th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Saman Nidhi, commonly known as (PM Kisan).
The livestream was held in all 24 Agriculture Blocks and 27 Agriculture Zones of the district, which was attended by a large number of farmers, respective PRIs, Agriculture officers and field functionaries.
The main virtual function was held at Agriculture Complex Kupwara during which live web cast of the release of 13th installment of PM Kisan by Prime Minister Narendera Modi was held.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Kupwara (CAO), Ghulam Mohammad Dhobi was present at the venue and said that 13th installment of PM Kisan was transferred into the accounts of Famer Operating Families (FOFs) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and there was an impressive attendance of farmers and agriculture experts.
“More than 100457 FOFs are registered on the portal in Kupwara district and an amount of Rs199 crore has been transferred into accounts of farmers under PM Kisan in Kupwara district till now” said the CAO.
District Agriculture officer (Inputs), Taijpal Singh, District Agriculture officer (Extension), Prince Ahmad Bhat and other officers and experts remained with farmers and attended the virtual function.
The 11th and 12th installments under the Scheme were given in May and October last year. With the release of the 13th installment, the government has continued its commitment to support farmers and help them achieve their livelihood goals. The PM-KISAN Scheme has already provided significant benefits to farmers across the country, and this latest installment will further boost their incomes and contribute to the growth of the agriculture sector.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme in 2019. The Scheme aims to provide income support to all landholder farmer families across the country with cultivable land, subject to specific exclusions. Under the Scheme, an amount of Rs 6000 per year is released in three installments of Rs 2000 each directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
