Agriculture Department launches three significant initiatives in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, APRIL24: Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, Udhampur, under the guidance of  Sanjay Anand, Chief Agriculture Officer, Udhampur, today launched three significant initiatives viz., Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, Daksh Kisan (learning management system) & Kisan Sathi (IT Dashboard for digitized services to farmers) for effective implementation of Projects under Holistic Development of Agriculture and allied sectors in the District.

The initiatives form the part of four month long Kisan Sampark Abhiyan during which the department will cover 236 Panchayats of the District with the help of PRI Members focusing on Farmers Orientation. Skilling courses for all interventions will ensure that the meticulous plans reach the fields and prepare the Farmers to meet new challenges, explore new possibilities and make farming accessible and profitable, besides     generating employment for the youth.    

This programme which commenced today will conclude on August 31, 2023.

In the first phase Farmers from Eleven (11) Panchayats Badali, Nagrota Panjgrian, Sattaini, Sunthan, Incha, Panjar, Ladha, Galiote, Thaplal, Sewna & Jadsarkote are being provided complete information regarding the projects under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, through Videos and printing material containing all the information of 45 Projects in three languages viz, Hindi, Urdu & English.

More than 1000 Farmers participated today (i.e. the first day of the three day programme .

 Under the financial inclusion mandate, Smart Cards would also be provided to KCC holders by different Banks as a part of the activity during the programme.
