AHD Ramban establishes Dairy Automatic Milk Collection Units

RAMBAN, AUGUST 08: The Animal Husbandry Department Ramban, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, installed two state-of-the-art Dairy Automatic Milk Collection Units (AMCU) in Kunfer Chanderkote, each with a 500-liter capacity.

The initiative, part of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) 2024-25, aims to enhance milk productivity and profitability while promoting sustainable livestock management.

Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Suhail Kawoosa highlighted that these AMCUs, a first in the district, streamline milk collection by automating quality testing, weighing, and payment processing, ensuring transparency and efficiency. The project supports two Self-Help Groups (SHGs), YA ALLAH SHG and Dukson SHG, registered under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), to empower local communities and foster sustainable dairy production.

Comprising ten members each, these SHGs are registered under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). Through this collaboration, the Department aims to empower local communities while fostering sustainable dairy production.

Meanwhile, the Beneficiaries and locals hailed the efforts of the Animal Husbandry Department and said that the introduction of AMCU units will ensure quality control besides generating more job opportunities.
