Ahead of Women’s Day, Payal Ghosh talks about the importance of following your heart, shares an inspiring story behind her becoming an actress

Payal Ghosh is one of the most beautiful and sought-after actresses in the Indian entertainment industry. The diva has proven her mettle in the Indian entertainment industry on many occasions, especially in South regional cinema and no wonder, her loyal legion of fans are very proud of her. She commands a huge fan following because of her beauty and charm and given the fact that she’s made it in the industry without any ‘Godfather’, it certainly gives her the desired respect that she always deserved. While today, everything might seem very hunky-dory at her end, the reality is quite different, especially during her initial days where it was all about going against the world to fulfill her dreams.

As women leaders of today, we often talk about the importance of women not limiting themselves by any means but following their passion with utmost dedication and sincerity. For Payal as well many years back, she was forced to do the same in order to fulfill her dreams. Hailing from a conservative family certainly didn’t help Payal’s chances of entering the film industry. That’s exactly where the ‘rebel’ inside her got activated and today, looking back, she can feel proud about who she is and where she belongs. On being asked to share more about the same, Payal said and we quote,

“Well, I come from a very conservative family, in fact so much that women are not allowed to work outside. So, the film industry was a far-fetched option. However, I was very clear of where I wanted to be. I tried convincing them but they didn’t listen. So, I ran away from my home and came to Mumbai. Luckily, my cousin used to stay here and so, I stayed with her for a few weeks. I did my acting classes and by God’s grace, I started getting film offers and that’s how my career kickstarted. Eventually, after my career got settled and things fell into place, my family accepted. However, I still remember that my dad didn’t talk to me for 6 months. But yeah, I am grateful to them about the fact that during my struggle period, they still helped me financially to survive here until and unless I could take care of myself completely. Today, when I look back, if they didn’t support me financially at that time, I don’t think I could have become what I am today. So for me, I feel that as a woman, you are always unstoppable and if you chase your ambition with all heart, you will eventually get there and no one in this world can take away that achievement from you. So my message to all the wonderful women would be to be humble, be kind and strong but at the same time, be fierce, bold and fearless enough so that you don’t have to give up on your dreams. Eventually, if your intent is good, even God takes note of it and the world is yours.”

Well, kudos to Payal for sharing such a beautiful and courageous inspiring life story. We are confident of the fact that this story will resonate with everyone and people will look forward to emerge out victorious and win in life. On the work front, Payal Ghosh will next be seen in the movie Shaque: The Doubt’ where she will play the role of yesteryear superstar Zeenat Aman. Stay tuned for more updates.
