Allow 14 FC fund utilization by Panchayats as earlier: BJP Pancahayati Raj Cell

Jammu, Dec 28: BJP Panchayati Raj Cell under the leadership of its J&K Convenor Shivdev Singh demanded that the Panchayats be allowed to utilize the funds available under the 14 FC as per earlier practice.

Shivdev Singh, Convenor BJP Panchayati Raj Cell accompanied by Sarpanch Balwant Singh, Co-convenor, Surjit Kumar, Co-Convenor, Sarpanch Devinder Kumar and Randep Singh was addressing a Press conference at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

While appreciating the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the strengthening of 3 tier Panchayati Raj System and for Ladli Beti Yojana and PMSSS, he said that the efforts by the worthy Prime Minister are not fully appreciated by the officials at the ground level.

He said that the Panchayats must be allowed to utilize the funds and the interest amount for the development purposes in the Panchayats as per earlier practice without the tendering process. He said that this is necessary to meet the expectations of the people regarding the urgent development works and the optimal utilization of the funds available.

He also said that the funds be immediately released under the Swacch Bharat Mission (SBM) which is pending since 2 years now.

He also demanded that the funds be also released under the Awas Plus Yojana to the needy persons so as to actually meet the vision of the Yojana to provide the roof to the needy persons.

The Back to Village scheme and GPDP plan must be executed efficiently for providing the benefit to the needy population. He raised issue that out of 29 departments needed only handful of departments are represented there by the employees who don’t have any powers to execute anything. There must be the visits by senior officials from the maximum departments otherwise the scheme is only an eye wash on the ground level.

Various other demands were: The honourarium fixed for the Sarpanchs & Panchs be released at regular intervals. The expenditures incurred during the Back to Village 4 be released immediately. Progress of PM Awas Yojana in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir is commendable, about 1 lakh houses have been constructed. Release the CD panchayat funds for all panchayats at the earliest.
