Altaf Bukhari appeals to provide rehabilitation, compensation for flash flood victims

JULY 25: J&K Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari appealed to the administration to provide rehabilitation and compensation for flash flood victims.

Taking to Twitter, Bulhari posted that “Several districts of J&K have witnessed flashfloods intermittently over last several days, resulting in death of at least 8 persons in Kathua and widespread damage to residential houses, standing crops and orchards especially in districts of Kulgam, Shopian, Ganderbal, Kupwara and Fakir Gujri hamlet in Srinagar and other districts as well.”

Altaf Bukhari said that unprecedented flash floods have been witnessed by several districts like Kathua, Kulgam, Shopian, Ganderbal, Kupwara and Srinagar which has not only resulted in damage however the death of several was registered in this regard.

Altaf Bukhari further posted on Twitter, “I appeal LG-led admin and concerned district administrations to assess the damage caused and compensate and rehabilitate the victims on a priority. Would urge the people in the affected areas to refrain from venturing near rivers and rivulets till the situation eases.”

Bukhari appealed to the administration to prioritise rehabilitation and provide decent compensation to the affected ones.
