Amar Singh College organizes Walkathon
Prof. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir flags-off the rally
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 09: In connection with the weeklong celebrations of International Youth Day, Red Ribbon Club of the college in collaboration with the J&KAIDS Control Society today organized a ‘Walkathon’.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir flagged-off the rally from Amar Singh College, campus in presence of Principal of City Colleges, Nodal Officers, RRC and other faculty of the college.
Apart from the students and faculty of the host college, Faculty and students from city colleges participated in the walkathon.
The rally comprising hundreds of students holding play cards in their hands about the HIV/AIDS awareness covered a distance of around 4 kms and went through the heart of the city Lal Chowk, culminating at Joggers ParkRajbagh.
The main motto of the walkathon was to bring awareness among the youth in particular and masses in general about the ill effects of deadly disease HIV/AIDS and the problems faced by youth.
Earlier on the inaugural day of International Youth Day on August 08, 2023, the RRC organized inter-college Poster making and Reel Making competitions about HIV/AIDS. A large number of students representing the city colleges participated in the respective competitions.
It is worth mentioning here that the series of events started from August 08, 2023 and shall culminate with the valedictory function on August 12, 2023.
