Amrit Kalash Yatra 2nd phase programme held at Spituk and Thiksay
Leh, Oct. 12, 2023: As part of the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign, Amrit Kalash Yatra 2nd phase programme was held at Spituk on October 11 and Thiksay on October 12.
During the event, Yangchan Dolma w/o Shaheed Subedar Lobzang Chotak Veer Chakra awardee was the chief guest.
BDO Leh, Tsering Wangchuk presented the welcome speech followed by Panch Pran Pledge by the guests and participants.
Assistant Commandant, Balkar Singh, Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurboo, BDC Leh, Dr Skalzang Dorjey also spoke on the occasion. A cultural programme was also showcased.
Also, the Sarpanches transfer the soil (mitti) from Panchayats to the block-level Kalash. Councillor Phyang, BDC Leh and Commandant ITBP felicitated Yangchan Dolma.
ITBP Deputy Commandant, Ranveer Pratap Singh 16th Batallion ITBP Leh; Assistant Commandant, Amit Jha; Sarpanch from all Panchayats of Leh block; headmaster, teacher and students of govt primary and Middle school Spituk; Official and youth volunteers from NYK and BDO Leh staff were present.
Similarly, on October 12, Amrit Kalash Yatra was held at Block Headquarters Thiksay. Sonam Tundup S/o Late Sonam Stopdan, Sub.Major, MVC, SM was the chief guest and Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Stanzin Chospel was the guest of honour.
One of the main events of the Amrit Kalash Yatra was the collection of Matti from each panchayat. The collected soil was then ceremoniously mixed in a single container at the block level. On the occasion, Councillor Thiksay, BDO, and Assistant Commandant ITBP shared their views and thoughts regarding the event. Later, the pledge was taken and the programme concluded with the national anthem.
The Amrit Kalash Yatra was attended by Anil Kumar Jha, Assistant Commandant ITBP Choglamsar along with the officers and Jawans of ITBP; Tsering Wangchuk, BDO and Officials of Thiksay Block; Head Master, Govt High School Thiksay; Sarpanches and PRI members of Thiksay block and villagers of Thiksay Block.
