Amrit Kalash Yatra successfully converges at District Headquarters Pulwama
PULWAMA, OCTOBER 22: The spirit of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ soared to new heights in the heart of District Pulwama as the community came together to celebrate with unparalleled fervor.
In his warm and welcoming address, Assistant Commissioner Development Pulwama extended a heartfelt welcome to all the participants. He threw light on the remarkable events that transpired during the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ program.
On the occasion, ‘Panch Pran Pledge’ was administered by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom. The pledge served as a powerful reminder of our commitment to our beloved land and its preservation, fostering a sense of responsibility and unity among the participants.
This remarkable event saw the Amrit Kalash Yatra, originating from various Blocks and Municipalities within the District, culminating in a gathering at the District headquarters. The highlight of the day was the harmonious collection of ‘Mitti’ from across the district, signifying the unity and shared commitment of its people towards their homeland.
The DC presided over the symbolic ceremony, underscoring the District’s solidarity and determination.
The festivities embraced the rich cultural tapestry of the region, with captivating cultural programs that featured the enthusiastic participation of school-going children, rich folk dance performance by CRPF personnel, traditional performances by local artists and speech competition between schools on Indian National Movement. Their vibrant performances added a dynamic touch to the event, evoking the true essence of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’.
A heartfelt tribute was paid to the bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Families of the martyrs were felicitated by DC, and were honored with mementos, a poignant reminder of their selfless service and unwavering dedication.
The DC in his address commended the exceptional contribution of the people of the district to the campaign. He remarked that everyone had wholeheartedly participated, with ‘Mitti’ and ‘Rice’ collected from every nook and corner of the district.
The DC emphasized the significance of this initiative, where the sacred ‘Mitti’ was collected from various corners of District Pulwama, signifying the unity and diversity of our nation. This sacred ‘Mitti’ will soon embark on a significant journey to the heart of the nation, Delhi, where it will unite with soil from every corner of the country, symbolizing our collective strength and heritage, he added.
