Animal Husbandry Dept Leh successfully conducts Veterinary Health Camp in Durbuk, Turtuk, Diskit blocks

Leh, June 20: As part of the recently launched Mobile Veterinary health care/ outreach program, aimed to target the areas lacking veterinary centers, health-cum-awareness camps were organised by the Animal Husbandry Department, Leh in Durbuk, Turtuk and Diskit blocks of Leh district.

 A two-day veterinary health camp was conducted in the villages of Phobrang and Maan-merak on June 16 and 17, 2023. During the camps, eight major equine surgeries were performed. Additionally, the camp addressed 20 cases, predominantly related to wildlife attacks, thereby providing the necessary treatment and care.

Similarly, another two-day camp was conducted in Tyakshi and Tangyar villages on June 17 and 19, 2023. Veterinary doctors addressed a total of 38 cases during the said camp.

The camps aimed to provide essential healthcare services to animals and create awareness among the public about livestock diseases, livestock management and departmental schemes.

The local community showed great interest and participation throughout the camps and to further support the local villagers, free medicines, supplements and first aid treatment kits were distributed during the camps.
