Annual Urs of Shah Farid-ud-Din (R.A.) celebrated with great fervour at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, JUNE 20: The annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Farid-ud-Din Sahib (RAH) was celebrated today with religious fervour here at Kishtwar,in which devotees from across the District and other parts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and other states participated.


One of the most revered saints of Kishtwar, Shah Farid Sahib represents the common cultural heritage and mutual love between various communities of this area. Every year thousands of devotees from all walks of life and different regions thronged the famous shrine of Shah Farid-ud-Din in Kishtwar to pay their reverence to the pious saint and seek his blessings.


District administration in collaboration with the Auqaf, Kishtwar ensured all arrangements for the peaceful and hassle-free celebration of the annual Urs for which a large number of devotees visited the shrine.


The Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav besides senior officers, ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh, the officers of Civil and police administration including representatives of Auqaf visited the shrine and complex area to inspect the arrangements besides seek blessings after paying obeisance at the shrine.


All the line departments were directed by DC to ensure all facilities are provided to the devotees like uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water, essential items, security, transport, sanitation on the occasion. At the shrine complex, district Administration in collaboration with Police Department and District Information Centre, Kishtwar established a control room to facilitate the pilgrims.
