AP&FWD Kulgam organizes Awareness programme fir PRIs under HADP
KULGAM, April 17: The Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department Kulgam in collaboration with allied departments and KVK Kulgam today organized a daylong awareness programme for PRIs under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) at Rest House Chawalgam, here.
The awareness programme was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat.
District Development Council Chairperson, Mohd Afzal Parrey was also present on the occasion.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner Showkat Ahmad Rather, DDC, BDC and other PRI members, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, DSHO and other officers, besides progressive farmers also attended the programme.
Addressing the occasion, DC said government has announced a Rs 560-crore project under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) to strengthen the existing market infrastructure and create a robust market ecosystem to boost the region’s economy and benefit farmers.
He added that a 3-day awareness camp will be organized in each panchayat across the district so as to sensitize and acquaint farmers with opportunities offered under different schemes of Agriculture and allied sectors under HADP.
The DC emphasized upon the Sectoral Officers of Agriculture and allied departments to give the programme a wide publicity so that mass participation of the farming community can be assured.
