Apni Party commemorates the martyrs of 13 July
Holds a special prayer meeting, and pays tribute to those who laid down their lives resisting autocracy in 1931.
Srinagar, July 13: Apni Party paid homage to the martyrs of July 13, who made the sacrifice while courageously opposing autocratic rule in Kashmir 92 years ago.
To commemorate their selfless sacrifices, the party organised a prayer meeting at its headquarters in Srinagar on Thursday morning, where special prayers were offered in honour of these martyrs.
According to a press statement issued here, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari presided over an extraordinary meeting where the martyrs were commemorated, and special prayers were dedicated to their memory.
On this occasion, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “This day holds a great significance in our history, as it marks the sacrifice of numerous ancestors who laid down their lives on this very day in 1931. They fearlessly raised their voices against autocratic rule.”
He added, “Apni Party is committed to upholding the mission of these martyrs in terms of continuing our peaceful struggle for strengthening democracy and democratic institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that the people of this region are no longer deprived of the dividends of democracy.”
The prominent party leaders who joined the prayer meeting included party’s Parliamentary Affairs Committee Chairman Mohammad Dilawar Mir, Vice President Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, State Secretary Muntazir Mohiuddin, Senior Leader from Uri Syed Najeeb Naqvi, State Convener Haji Parvez, District President Rajouri Manzoor Bukhari, District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh, District President Pulwama G M Mir, District President Ganderbal Javaid Mir, party in charge of Srinagar’s Habba Kadal constituency Jeelani Kumar, in charge of Khanyar constituency Muhsin Zafar, and others.
