Arrangements finalised for Baisakhi Festival at Dera Baba Banda
REASI, April 01: A meeting was held in the office of the Deputy Commissioner to discuss and finalise arrangements for the Baisakhi Festival. The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Abdul Star. Detailed discussions were held on the arrangements for the upcoming Baisakhi festival at Dera Baba Banda, scheduled to take place from 12-14 April 2023.
Issues relating to security, traffic management, uninterrupted power and water supply, medical aid, ambulance services, fire tenders, repair and maintenance of the road from Simbal Choa to Dera Baba, and cleanliness in and around the Dera Baba shrine were discussed.
Naib Tehsildar of Dera Baba Banda Bahadur, Priyanka Bharti, will be the Nodal Officer/Mela Officer under the supervision of Tehsildar Reasi.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to ensure the provisioning of a medical van, cleanliness, repair and maintenance of all roads leading to the shrine, arrangement and provisioning of an adequate number of buses for ferrying pilgrims, regulated parking spaces, arrangements for LPG refill, repair and maintenance of all tourism infrastructure including pole lights and law and order situation in specific venues/Mela sites.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner also directed all concerned officers to work in tandem to finalise necessary arrangements well before the festival begins. Other officers present at the meeting included Assistant Commissioner Development, Anirudh Rai; Chief Medical Officer, Ravinder Manhas; Tehsildar Reasi, Suresh Singh; Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters; Assistant Regional Transport Officer; and other concerned officers and members of the Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Management Committee.
