Arrangements for Digital Week celebrations finalized at Budgam

DC for prompt online services delivery to general public

BUDGAM, AUGUST 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo today chaired a meeting of officers to finalize arrangements for the celebration of Digital Week to be held from August 31st to 6th September 2023, across UT of J&K.

At the outset, DC said that, as whole UT will be celebrating digital week, a Digi- Mela will be held in Budgam too, where all concerned offices shall set up their stalls and generate awareness about online services provided to the general public.

Besides, he said that the Digi- Melas shall also be held at all SDM and Tehsil Headquarters and block headquarter levels of the district, wherein concerned offices shall ensure  proper deployment of staff and installation of equipments.

Stressing on prompt and hassle-free delivery of online services, the DC called for celebrations of digital week at all Common Service Centres of the district. He instructed concerned people to raise awareness about online services through involvement of PRIs, Youth Clubs and prominent citizens of Budgam district. 

He directed Chief Education Officer, Budgam and college authorities for organising programmes such as quiz programmes, painting competitions, debate competitions, nukad nataks etc at various educational institutions, colleges for generation of awareness regarding ongoing digital services in the district.

Instructions were given that awareness be generated through distribution of pamphlets, hoardings, banners and loud speaker campaign be also launched across the district for mass awareness.

The DC directed the District Information Officer to  launch a competition for the best three photographs of tourist destinations of Budgam  and the same to be shared on official email id of District Information Centre Budgam.

The DC said that this is a week that shall be filled with celebration and awareness generation of innovative digital solutions of J&K aimed to enhance public convenience.

District Administration is committed towards providing digital services efficiently and seamlessly, he added.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam,  Dr. Akramullah Tak; ADC Budgam, Dr . Nasir; PO ICDS, JD Panning, CEO, CMO, ACD, ACP, SDMs, ACR, and other district and sectorial officers of the district.
