Arrangements for Republic Day celebrations reviewed at Handwara

KUPWARA, January 06: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir today convened a meeting  of all concerned officers at Environmental Hall Handwara, to review the arrangements for celebration of ensuing Republic Day in Handwara sub division.

On the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the officers to ensure elaborate and hassle free arrangements for conduct of the National event. He directed the officers to maintain proper coordination and ensure arrangements well in advance.

He directed the line departments to display Tableaus during Republic Day to showcase developmental activities of their respective departments and government schemes. He said all efforts shall be made to make the National function more attractive and informative.

The ADC gave directions that Republic Day celebration Functions shall be held at Tehsil levels and Block levels with the same fervour and enthusiasm.

It was given out in the meeting that the main event of Republic Day celebration shall be held at District police lines (DPL) at Kulangam Handwara where the National flag will be hoisted and the VIP will take salute on the March past.

It was informed that the main function will start with Shanaivadan at 8:05 AM while the National Flag will be hoisted at 10:05 AM.

Entrusting the responsibilities for smooth conduct of the event, ADC asked R&B department, Mechanical Engineering and Municipality Handwara to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the DPL ground and Town area. They were also directed to keep manpower available in case of snowfall on the day of rehearsal as well as main function day.

The R&B department was directed to make seating arrangements for the function.  The decoration will be done by the Floriculture department and Municipality Handwara.

Meanwhile, arrangements including availability of doctors, first aid, ambulance security, Public Address system, media coverage, etc were also reviewed and accordingly appropriate directions were passed to the concerned officers.

Sub Registrar Handwara, Arshid Khan, DSP DAR Handwara, Dr Abdul Maajid, Principal GDC Langate and Qaziabad, Vice Principal GDC Handwara,  Medical Superintendent DH Handwara, DFO Langate, Tehsildars of Handwara, Zachildara, Langate and Qalamabad;  Exen R&B Handwara, Dy CEO Handwara, and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
