Assam Governor pays tribute to ‘bravehearts’ on Police Commemoration Day

Guwahati (Assam) [India], October 21 (ANI): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Monday paid tributes to the brave police personnel on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day at a function held at the 4th Assam Police Battalion at Kahilipara in Guwahati.

Police Commemoration Day is observed on October 21 to honour the courage and sacrifice made by the police personnel.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Acharya said, “Police Commemoration Day is an occasion which gives us an opportunity to honour the valour and supreme sacrifice of our police personnel who at the cost of their lives save us and our motherland”.

Assam Governor remembered the dedicated and courageous police personnel who laid down their lives in different missions of their duties.

He also said that the dedication and the unflinching commitment of the police personnel who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the motherland is a source of inspiration for everybody.

He said that the sacrifices made by the police personnel serve as a poignant reminder for every member of the society to learn and contribute positively to the nation.

The Governor also underscored the importance of instilling a sense of patriotism, dedication and dutifulness in every individual, stating that these qualities are crucial for achieving individual productivity and helping the nation to scale new heights of success.

He also said that service to the nation is the foremost objective, safeguarding and protecting it should be the highest form of service one can dedicate in his or her lifetime.

Chief Secretary Ravi Kota and DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh also spoke on the occasion.

The Assam Governor also spent time interacting with the men in uniform on the occasion. (ANI)
