Assam: STF seizes 60,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 15 crore; 3 arrested
Guwahati (Assam), [India], October 17 (ANI): The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police on Tuesday recovered and seized 60,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 15 crore in Guwahati and apprehended three drug peddlers including a man from Manipur.
The operation was conducted following a secret operation at Six Mile, Khanapara area in front of Rahman Hospital and subsequently the arrest was made.
Partha Sarathi Mahanta, DIG (STF) told ANI, “Based on secret information, a team of STF led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kalyan Pathak launched an operation at Six Mile, Khanapara area in front of Rahman Hospital in Guwahati and apprehended three drug peddlers including one from Manipur and two locals.”
“The STF team recovered and seized 60,000 Yaba tablets in possession from them. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around Rs 15 crore,” Partha Sarathi Mahanta said.
