Assessment, restoration work initiated in flood hit Nachlana-Mangit area
RAMBAN, MARCH 10: Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan, along with DDC Khari, Gulshan Parveen, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Banihal, Rizwan Asgar conducted a comprehensive assessment of the damages incurred by the recent windstorm and flood on the Nachlana-Mangit Road, adjoining Areas and Market Khari.
During the visit, significant damages to a local Madrasa, Residential houses, and infrastructure were observed, requiring urgent need for rehabilitation of the affected people. In response to the assessment, Dr. Shamshad Shan announced the initiation of execution work on the Kawna Buzla Road, estimated at Rs 3.50 Crore, with funding support from NABARD and Rs 1 Crore under the UT Sector. Additionally, reconstruction of the Kumla to Cherwara Road, under UT Capex, with an estimated cost of 1.50 crore, under PWD Division Banihal, was also kick-started.
Ensuring support for the affected residents, Dr. Shamshad Shan emphasized the commitment of the DDC Khari and its counterparts to swiftly address the challenges posed by natural calamities. The collaborative efforts aim to restore normalcy and provide necessary support to the affected communities.
