“Atishi has got an answer today”: BJP MP Yogender Chandolia on Rekha Gupta becoming Delhi’s CM
New Delhi [India], February 19 (ANI): BJP MP Yogender Chandolia on Wednesday took a swipe at AAP leader Atishi’s attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party over its delay in announcing the chief minister after Rekha Gupta was elected leader of the BJP legislative party at a meeting of newly-elected BJP MLAs.
“Rekha Gupta will be Delhi CM. Atishi has got an answer today,” said BJP MP Yogender Chandolia while talking to ANI.
Rekha Gupta, a BJP MLA from Shalimar Bagh, has emerged as the party’s choice to lead the government in Delhi.
Earlier, AAP leader Atishi questioned the BJP’s delay in announcing the name of the Chief Minister, stating that it showed the party’s lack of a credible leader to govern the national capital.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders and MLAs have congratulated Rekha Gupta on her election, praising her capabilities and expressing confidence in her ability to bring development to Delhi. They also termed the decision to make Gupta the CM of Delhi a historic one, adding that she will write a new chapter of Delhi.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, “This was a historic mandate and a historic decision.” He said that women’s empowerment is the party’s top priority.
“Respect for women is the biggest priority for BJP. Many congratulations to Rekha Gupta for becoming the leader of the legislative party and the Chief Minister of Delhi,” he added.
BJP MLA elect Kapil Mishra said, “It is a historic decision. The MLAs unanimously decided this. We all are now going to meet the LG.”
” Many, many congratulations to her. Under the leadership of PM Modi, Rekha Gupta will write a new chapter of Delhi,” said BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj.
“It is a matter of great pride for the 50% of women in Delhi who voted for BJP. It is good news that a woman is going to become the CM. It is a proud moment for everybody. We should congratulate Rekha Gupta for this,” said BJP MLA elect Harish Khurana.
“Certainly, from tomorrow, the BJP government will bring development to Delhi,” he added.
As Delhi prepares for a new chapter under Rekha Gupta’s leadership, BJP leaders are optimistic about the future.
BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht welcomed the high command’s decision and wished the new Delhi CM elect well.
“The name of Rekha Gupta ji has been proposed for the post of Leader of the House and we welcome it. Whatever the top leadership has done is good and we respect it”, Bisht said.
“All the MPs and MLAs will meet the Lt Governor and inform him that the BJP Legislative Party has elected Rekha Gupta as its leader. She will take the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Delhi tomorrow…”,” said BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.
Delhi election incharge Baijayant Panda said that the decision to make Rekha Gupta the next CM of Delhi was “taken unanimously.”
” From a student leader, she carried forward party’s ideology, she has been selected as leader of Delhi BJP Legislative Party. I congratulate her,” said BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh.
The BJP leaders also said that this decision marks a significant milestone for women’s empowerment in India, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a more inclusive and equitable society.
“PM Modi not only speaks about Women empowerment, but he works for it too. She has been elected as the leader of MLAs,” said Union Minister Harsh Malhotra.
“PM Modi has fulfilled the work of women empowerment,” said BJP MLA elect Raj Kumar Bhatia.
“… For the first time, a woman has been made CM because she has that capability… We will take PM Modi’s guarantee to every household and serve the people,” said BJP MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah on the announcement of BJP MLA Rekha Gupta’s name as Delhi CM.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA elect Arvinder Singh Lovely said that Rekha Gupta and BJP will give relief to the people of Delhi from the sufferings they had gone through in the last 10 years.
“Unanimously Delhi BJP Legislative Party elected Rekha Gupta. I am confident that Rekha Gupta and BJP will give relief to the people of Delhi from the sufferings they had gone through in the last 10 years,” he said.
“Hearty congratulations to her and the people of Delhi. I have full confidence that under the leadership and guidance of PM Modi, she will do amazing work…I don’t think there has been any discussion regarding Dy CM. Tomorrow, CM and ministers will take oath,” said BJP MLA elect Kailash Gahlot.
Rekha Gupta’s oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 20 at Ramlila Maidan, which is expected to be attended by nearly one lakh people.
