Auto drivers, owners on verge of starvation due to policies of BJP govt, UT adm-Ravinder

JAMMU, July 25: On the instruction of Party high command especially Shri Rahul Gandhi, the JK Congress manifesto team Jammu headed by  Mr Ravinder Sharma & accompanied by other senior Congress leaders today reached Kunjwani Chowk to meet the Auto operators and drivers besides labour class and listened to their plight.


The Tata magic owners and drivers told the team that they are at the verge of starvation due to wrong policies and huge taxations imposed by BJP government and UT administration.


They told the team that auto operators are worst affected by the huge taxations and increase in the insurance premium & other fees besides lack of rehabilitation policies for them.

They are unable to earn their livelihood and re-pay their loans. Post Covid -, 19  they were not given any relief like exemption of taxes or reduction in interests on loans. After introduction of  e – rickshaws and then e- buses, these auto operators are not able to earn their livlihhod.

The team listened to the plight of these people and assured to take up their demands and list in the manifesto.

Mr Ravinder Sharma told the gathering that Congress team has been visiting poor sections of the society  as per directions of Cong President Malikarjun Kharge and LOP Shri Rahul Gandhi, Incharge Jk Affairs Shri Bharat Sinh Solanki & PCC President Vikar Rasool Wani to reach out poor and downtrodden sections.

The team members present on the occasion included Vice Presidents Sdr Tarlok Singh Bajwa Ex- MP, Indu Pawar Ex- MLA, Shashi Sharma, Suresh Dogra, Satish Sharma, General Secretaries, Iqbal Dar member, Pritam Singh Ex – Corporator and representatives of Auto transport namely Johney Chib, Kuldeep Raj, Pawan Kumar, Daljeet Singh & others.

Later the Chairman and members met the migrant workers & listened to the issues of  labour class who narrated their woes. They narrated that they live & work under inhumane and unhygienic  conditions with no basic facilities to the labour class anywhere whereas they are the builders of nation
Their children suffer the most in education and health sectors. They sought attention to the labour class by the centre & UT government.
