Awareness camp on ‘One Nation, One Election’ was held at Akhnoor
Akhnoor March 17: An awareness camp on One Nation One Election was held at Panchayat Sungal, District Akhnoor with JKRLM (Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission).

Neha Mahajan was the key speaker in the event, in which she highlighted the importance and advantages of Conducting the simultaneous elections so that the time, resources and administrative expenses can be saved and there will be continuity in the development work of the country.
She remarked, there is huge administrative expenditure and waste of resources in holding frequent elections.
Simultaneous elections will reduce election expenditure substantially and security forces, teachers and administrative officers can be freed from frequent election duty.
Also, she added that development projects come to a half due to frequent imposition of Model Code of Conduct. Simultaneous elections will remove this obstacle and governments will be able to focus on their development work. This will reduce political instability, ensuring stability and long- term vision in policy making. This will create more awareness and enthusiasm among voters, which will increase the voting percentage and strengthen democracy. The Election Commission and Political Parties have to spend huge amounts of money for repeated election campaigns.
Simultaneous elections will reduce election expenses which will lead to more efficient use of money.
Lastly, she said that One Nation One Election is a revolutionary step which can make India’s democracy more strong, transparent and efficient. This will not only bring continuity in the work of the government, but also strengthen national unity and integrity.
Other prominent personalities present in the program were Poonam Gupta, Rajni Sharma, Anju Sharma and others.
