Awareness event on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao held at Panchayat Hidyal  

KISHTWAR, January 19: An awareness programme was today organised on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao by the   Mission Vatsalya, DHEW Mission Shakti and One Stop Centre (OSC) Kishtwar here at Govt. UPS Traksena Nagni Panchayat Hidyal.  

Sarpanch, Pyare Lal Parihar and a large number of local women and civisl society members attended the program.

 Protection officer (NIC) Mission Vatsalya DCPU, Touseef Iqbal Butt educated the participants about women centric schemes and laws for the protection of the rights of womenfolk.   He said a special focus has been laid on defeating the practice of female foeticide.  

He said the aim of the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” Mission is to ensure that the women and girls get equal opportunities and their survival and  security be given top priority.

Hina Jaan Coordinator DHEW, Mission Shakti Kishtwar also spoke about the government initiatives taken for protection of women rights and their empowerment.  

The team of DHEW Mission Shakti Kishtwar also pasted stickers of Beti Bachao Bati Padhao in and around the District Hospital and spread awareness about the scheme.

Shanu Rana Gender Specialist DHEW Mission Shakti, Kajal Parihar Case Worker (One Stop Centre), Ruchi Sen (Office Assistant) also spoke on the occasion.
