Awareness on EVM, Voting Process organised at GLDM Degree College Hiranagar

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 18: To promote voter education and electoral participation, the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC)and NSS unit of Govt. GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar organized a comprehensive Awareness Programme on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the Voting Process.


The event aimed to educate students and community members about the importance of voting and familiarize them with the technical aspects of the voting process.


Participants were given a hands-on demonstration of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and its key components, including the Control Unit (CU), Ballot Unit (BU), and the VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) system. The program also covered detailed explanations about the voting procedures, including the roles of polling officers and the identification documents required for voting on Election Day.


The event saw active participation from students, faculty, and local citizens, who engaged in discussions about the significance of every vote in shaping the democratic future of the nation. The initiative was part of a broader effort to ensure high voter turnout and informed participation in the upcoming elections.


Through this program, the Electoral Literacy Club and NSS unit continue their commitment to fostering a culture of informed and responsible citizenship among the youth and the larger community.
