Awareness Program on Fire Safety Organized at CUJ
Jammu, 1st March 2024: Central University of Jammu, Security wing organized an awareness programme on fire safety in the University Campus today. The program conducted a demonstration of Fire Fighting appliances, and Rescue Tools were displayed for the familiarization of the staff and students. The primary aim of this training was to equip the staff with essential skills to effectively tackle fire emergencies at the workplace.
Fire and safety program was organised by the Security Wing under the visionary leadership of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu. The organiser of the event was Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar Central University of Jammu and coordinated by Security Officer.
The training was imparted by Mr. Balwan Singh, Security Officer and Mr. Romi Rajput, Security Inspector on use of fire extinguishers in which Students, NCC boys & girls’ cadets, and staff of the University carried out practical use of fire extinguishers. Security officer said that fire safety training can help students and staff to learn the potential hazards and risks associated with fires and teach them how to prevent and respond in fire emergencies. He discussed how to respond in an emergency situation and how to evacuate the buildings.
The Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu Prof. Sanjeev Jain appreciated the efforts of the Security wing in creating fire safety awareness amongst the University fraternity including students. Prof. Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Ratnesh Yadav, Dr Sushil Sahebrao Kamble, Dr. Amita Gupta graced the event by showing their presence.
