Awareness programme on Agriculture, Allied sector schemes held at Bandipora
Intensify efforts for hand-holding of Youth: DC
BANDIPORA, MARCH 11: The Department of Agriculture Bandipora and KVK-Gurez of SKUAST-K on Monday organised a day long awareness program regarding various schemes of agriculture and allied sectors.
The programme was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman and was attended by ADC Umar Shafi Pandit, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Head KVK Gurez and Bandipora and other concerned.
More than 150 rural youth, SHG members from Bandipora and Gurez participated in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, DC emphasized the involvement of youth in agriculture and allied sectors and sensitizing rural youth about various agricultural and allied sector schemes for fostering sustainable development.
He urged youth to come forward and avail benefits of Government schemes and asked the concerned officers to initiate a campaign for sensitizing rural youth, SHG members and other stakeholders about the various schemes launched by Government under HADP.
The DC, on the occasion, stressed on officers of agriculture and allied departments to intensify efforts for the hand-holding of youth through various Government schemes.
He said in agriculture and other allied sector schemes, farmers are the main stakeholders and asked the departments to take up the HADP cases on priority.
On the occasion, experts from KVK Gurez, KVK Bandipora, and different departments highlighted measures to promote natural farming practices among farmers besides highlighted provisions of various schemes of Government, launched for farmers welfare.
The speakers also highlighted government initiatives aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting entrepreneurship, and improving overall livelihood.
