Awareness programme on breastfeeding held at Panchayat Battal
UDHAMPUR, August 3: On the instructions of Amir Bashir Ranyal, CDPO, ICDS Project Majalta, an awareness program was organized on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week at Anganwadi Center Kakdhei, Panchayat Batal.
In the program, Health and Nutrition Mobilizer Jyoti Sharma and Supervisor Suraksha Sharma addressed the women present and explained the benefits of breastfeeding. Babies should be given only mother’s milk till 6 months. Breastfeeding protects children from infection and also keeps them away from obesity.
Apart from this, the risk of asthma, diabetes and heart diseases is also less in later years. Supervisor Anita Devi told that mother’s milk is like nectar for the child. Mother’s milk gives nutrition to the baby as well as the power to fight against diseases. Breastfeeding is also beneficial for the mother. Lactating women remain disease free. Informed people about healthy and nutritious diet, instructed pregnant women to eat regular protein rich diet, green leafy vegetables and fruits. Children should also eat nutritious food and not take junk foods. Health department employees, supervisors Anita Devi, Neeraj Arora and Geeta Devi and Anganwadi workers and helpers were also present in the programme.
A camp was also organized in the Anganwadi center to make Aadhaar card on behalf of Poshan Project Majalta. In the camp, Aadhaar cards were made for the children of Panchayat from 0 to 5 years.
