Awareness programme on self-employment schemes held at GDC Ramnagar
RAMNAGAR, March 24: Career Counselling and Placement Cell of GDC Ramnagar collaborated with the District Employment Office Udhampur to organise an awareness programme on employment services and self-employment schemes. The event was guided by the college principal, Dr Udhey Bhanu.
The programme began with a welcome address by Prof Swarna Devi, convener of the Career Counselling and Placement Cell. Navdeep Kour, Career Counselling Officer from the Employment Office in Udhampur, then gave a lecture informing students about various self-employment schemes such as MUMKIN and TEJASVINI. She also discussed online registration for job seekers and providers on the employment portal and job fairs/placement activities.
Deputy Director of the Employment Office Udhampur, Anshuman Singh, spoke about the implementation of the Mission Youth Scheme. The college principal emphasised the need for proper guidance for students in choosing their careers and congratulated the Career Counselling and Placement Cell for organising such an informative event.
Around 400 students attended the programme and had the opportunity to ask questions about employment schemes. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from HoD Physics, Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra.
