Awareness Rally On International Day of the Girl Child 2024 Organized by District Social Welfare Department, Kathua
KATHUA, October 11: Under the leadership of District Social Welfare Officer Varun Kumar Chaudhary, JKAS, the District Social Welfare Department of Kathua orchestrated a transformative awareness rally in celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child. This impactful event, held in collaboration with Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kathua, and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), was part of the Sankalp: HEW Mission Shakti Kathua initiative.
The rally was a tapestry of creativity and passion, featuring students who expressed their visions for a brighter future through stirring poems and impactful speeches. Their performances not only highlighted the importance of girls’ rights and education but also embodied the spirit of resilience and hope. Each voice echoed the collective dream of an equitable society where every girl is empowered to chase her aspirations.
Adding a unique touch, the event incorporated a “Wall of Dreams,” where participants wrote their hopes and aspirations for gender equality and displayed them prominently. This interactive element allowed attendees to engage deeply with the cause, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards advocating for girls’ empowerment.
Workshops on self-defense, leadership skills, and personal development were also organized, equipping participants with practical tools to navigate challenges and become advocates for change. To celebrate their involvement,h participants received vibrant T-shirts emblazoned with empowering messages, along with refreshments that encouraged camaraderie and connection.
