Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: DDRC distributes Orthotics, Hearing aids & Prosthetics at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, August 10: The District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) Thursday organized a distribution Camp of orthotics, hearing aids and prosthetics in Bandipora to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, reinforcing the center’s dedication to inclusivity and accessibility.

The camp was held at DDRC Office Bandipora where a large number of assistive devices were distributed to those in need. Attendees included individuals with various mobility impairments, hearing challenges, and limb deficiencies. 26 orthosis, 16 hearing aids, 6 prosthesis, 22 orthotics were distributed on the occasion.

Later, an interaction meeting was held at VC Room Mini Secretariat along with one of the partners/sponsor MEND from New Zealand. The meeting was presided over by the District Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak. The meeting discussed scope and future strategies by DDRC for the welfare of the community.

Officials of DDRC said that distribution of such aids aim to empower individuals to overcome their limitations and participate actively in society. The smiles and gratitude witnessed today truly reflected the impact of the efforts.
