B2V5: Day-1 of first Round witnesses huge public participation in 92 Panchayats across Doda District
DODA, November 09: First round of Back to Village Phase-5 (B2V5) commenced today in 92 out of 237 Gram panchayats of Doda district. Showing great enthusiasm, a huge public participation was witnessed across all the venues.
The visiting officers (VOs) received a warm welcome and amid a festive atmosphere. The VOs shall stay in their respective panchayats tonight and continue their scheduled activities tomorrow. The designated Visiting/ Prabhari Officers, along with supporting staff and field functionaries of the line departments shall listen to villagers and prepare Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) as per the wishes of people of the village.
The Prabhari Officers shall also ensure the awareness and saturation of all the government schemes and report to the government on the aspirations and feedback of the people of their respective panchayats. The VOs have been exhorted upon to focus on the penetration of online services in the rural population to expedite the public services delivery in a transparent manner.
The mega outreach programme in Doda, under the unique initiative of the UT Government, is supervised and managed by the District Administration Doda, under the leadership of District Development Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh.
The Back to Village (B2V) Programme is the flagship public outreach, participation, and feedback programme. During the programme, the Prabhari Officers visit their respective panchayats, stay there for a specific period to interact and obtain feedback from the grass-roots so as to tailor Government efforts in improving the delivery of village-specific services. The B2V Programme is aimed at involving the people and government officials in a joint effort to deliver the mission of equitable development in rural areas.
On the first day of the B2V5 programme in the designated panchayats, the visiting officers held interactions with members of the PRIs and general public. They inspected the government institutions viz schools, Anganwadi Centres, Ration depots, Health institutions, Patwar khanas, Panchayat Ghars etc. They also visited the sites of ongoing and completed works under MGNREGA, Capex Budget, PMAY, SBM, and other such schemes. The Visiting Officers also inaugurated and laid foundation stone of important public assets. Visiting officers inspected Amrit Sarovars, interacted with the public especially, youth and spread awareness on Self-Employment schemes. Feedback on welfare schemes, services delivery, and the punctuality of officials in the villages was reviewed by the visiting officers on day-1 of B2V5.
The designated officers also held interactions with the sarpanches, panches, and general public, who brought forth a range of genuine and specific grievances and developmental requirements of their areas.
The resource persons of various departments also educated the public about scores of welfare schemes and programmes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.
