Bandipora Admin evacuates critically ill patient from Snowbound Gurez valley

BANDIPORA, February 21: The District Administration Bandipora on Tuesday performed yet another most difficult operation to evacuate a critically ill patient from Purana Tulail (PTL) village of Gurez valley close to Line of Control.

After receiving an SOS about a critically ill patient in the remote village who needed immediate evacuation for better medical treatment, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais directed for airlifting the patient from Snowbound village.

After hectic preparations to land the helicopter at the village on a thick layer of snow and ice for the first time, the helicopter landed on Snow outside the village and evacuated the patient.

The patient was shifted to Bandipora where a critical care ambulance was already placed near the helipad where from the patient was shifted to District Hospital Bandipora for treatment.

Doctors said the patient was in need of immediate medical aid that was not possible in the remote village.

The locals appreciated the District Administration for timely intervention to save the life of a patient.
