Bandipora police arrest drug peddler, seize contraband charas

In a significant development, the Bandipora Police arrested a drug peddler in the Rakhi Asham Sumbal area and seized a substantial quantity of Charas, a narcotic substance, from his possession.

This operation, conducted by officials from the Nowgam Police Station, marks a crucial step in the ongoing fight against the proliferation of narcotics in the region.

Following the arrest, a case (FIR No. 42/2024) has been registered against the individual under sections 8 and 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Sumbal.

Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the extent of the operation and identify any potential accomplices.
