Bandipora police freezes assets worth over Rs 6.3 lakh belonging to notorious drug peddler

In a significant move against drug trafficking, the Bandipora Police has taken decisive action against a notorious drug peddler, Irshad Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Samad Khan, resident of Asham Hajin.

The police have frozen his ill-gotten assets, including bank savings amounting to Rs 3,97,604 and an auto load carrier with a market value of Rs 3,18,000, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

These assets were allegedly amassed through the illegal sale of narcotic drugs, marking a major victory against drug-related crimes in the region.

Irshad Ahmad Khan has been on the police radar for his involvement in drug peddling activities in Bandipora.

Recognizing the need to clamp down on the drug menace, the Bandipora Police launched an extensive investigation into Irshad’s illicit activities.

The investigation led to the discovery of his unlawfully acquired assets, which included significant bank savings and a valuable auto load carrier.

These assets were believed to have been accumulated through the proceeds of the illegal sale of narcotic drugs in the area.
