Bandipora police seize illegally acquired property of drug smuggler
In a significant move to dismantle drug trafficking operations in the region, Bandipora Police have seized property belonging to an accused drug smuggler, Nazir Ahmad Bhat.
Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat and resident of Check Ganastan Sumbal, was already facing charges under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic (PIT) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Now, the police have tightened the noose further by confiscating his assets acquired through illegal means.

Bandipora Police seized illegally acquired property belonging to a drug smuggler namely Nazir Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Nabi Bhat R/o Check Ganastan Sumbal U/s 68F(1) of NDPS Act.The said accused has already been booked under PIT NDPS Act . @JmuKmrPolice @KashmirPolice
The seized property was obtained through the sale of narcotics, according to police. The action was taken under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act, which empowers authorities to seize ill-gotten gains amassed from drug trafficking.
