Bandipora police seize tractor & drilling machine in crackdown on illegal mining

In a move to curb illegal mining activities, the Bandipora Police seized a tractor and a drilling machine found to be involved in the extraction of minerals at the SK Bala Ajas area.

The action was taken based on information received by the authorities. A police team was dispatched to the location, where they intercepted the tractor and the drilling machine. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that the equipment was being used for illegal mining activities.

The seized vehicles have been taken into custody by the police, and action is being initiated against the offenders under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act (MMRD Act) in collaboration with the District Mineral Office, Bandipora.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Bandipora Police to combat illegal mining in the district.
