Baramulla: 5 drug peddlers held with consignment of Poppy Straw & Charas

BARAMULLA, 8 Aug: With an aim to root out drug menace from society, District Police Baramulla apprehended 5 peddlers with possession of a huge consignment of Poppy Straw, Poppy Powder and Charas. Besides a Motorcycle & Alto car have been seized from their possession.

As per prima-facie, the peddlers have been identified as Imtiyaz Khan of Tangwari Bala, Irshad Ganie, Dawood Sofi, Zahoor Bhat & Suhail Sofi all residents of Solinda Tangmarg.

It is learnt that 440 grams of Contraband Poppy Straw, 182 grams of Poppy Powder & 370 grams of Charas like substance recovered during naka checking at Salamdeedar Babareshi & Solinda Tangmarg.

Baramulla Police has registered a case under NDPS Act and taken up further investigation. The gallant act and constant operations in nabbing the culprits have added a cap to the feather of Baramulla Police.
