Baramulla District shines again as Fatehpora Panchayat Bags DDUPSVP National Panchayat Award-2023
National Award announced under the Thematic Area ‘Women Friendly Panchayat’
BARAMULLA, APRIL 08: In a significant and marvelous moment, Baramulla district once again shined and brought laurels for the entire UT of J&K as Fatehpora Panchayt of the district has bagged Deen Dayal Upadhyay Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP) National Panchayat Award 2022-23 under the “Women Friendly Panchayat” thematic area.
According to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, Fatehpora Panchayt of Block Baramulla was conferred for National Panchayat Award 2022-23 by the Union Ministry of Rural development and Panchayat Raj Govt. of India in recognition to the women friendly services rendered towards their welfare and empowerment.
While congratulating award winning Panchayat, DC said that it is a moment of pride that Fatehpora Panchayat has exhibited exemplary work in respective thematic areas.
This achievement was also made possible by the dedicated and tireless efforts of concerned officers/officials viz. ACD, ACP, BDO, Secretary Panchayat, Panchayat Accounts Assistant and concerned PRIs, DC said.
She extended her warmest appreciation to the whole team of Rural Development Department, PRIs and field functionaries of the department besides other concerned stakeholders for this achievement.
The DC has hoped that other Panchayats shall emulate the best practices towards furtherance of qualitative and efficient public services adding that more needs to be done so that the district will again shine and get more awards in the future.
Elaborating the details, Assistant Commissioner Development Baramulla, Shabir Ahmad Hakak has informed that the national award has been conferred to Fatehpora Panchayat of Baramulla district in recognition to the best performance achieved in making the Panchayat Women Friendly as envisaged in Localized Sustainable Development Goals (LSDG) besides improving delivery of services and achieving saturation in different indicators.
He informed that the award shall be officially presented on April 18 on the occasion of celebration of National Panchayat award week at New Delhi (from 17th to 21st April, 2023) as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2.0.
