Basant Panchami Celebrated at Central University of Jammu
Jammu, 3 Feb 2025: Under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, the Centre for Comparative Religion and Civilizations at Central University of Jammu celebrated Saraswati Puja on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami in the university campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Niranjna Bhandari, Director of the Centre, emphasized the importance of celebrating festivals to create awareness among students about India’s rich cultural and traditional heritage. She highlighted that the Centre actively organizes such events to foster inclusivity and respect for diverse traditions.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students of the Centre, along with attendees from other departments. The event commenced with Vedic chanting by students, followed by the aarti offered to Mata Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom and learning. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of sweets and fruits among all present.
Prominent faculty members from the Centre, including Dr. Arvind Rituraj, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, and Dr. G.V. Snigdha Raj, graced the occasion with their presence.
