Basant panchami celebration at GDCW Kathua
Government Degree College for Women Kathua, celebrated Basant panchami festival in the college campus with a lot of exuberance and funfair. The mood of the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit.
The program started with lightning of lamp by Incharge-Principal of the college Dr Inderjeet Kaur, which was followed by Saraswati Vandana by students.
Dr. Rachna Devi (DSW) in her welcome speech threw light on the importance of different festivals in India. Chief guest in her address appreciated the initiative taken by Students Welfare committee for awaring students about their culture on this special day. She said that by organising such programs, students get acquainted with the rich tradition of the India and she encouraged the committee to celebrate such programs in future as well.
Students presented colourful cultural program on the theme of Basant panchami. Program was organised by students Welfare committee and all senior faculty members Dr. Babita Mahajan, Dr. Deepshikha Sharma along with members of student welfare committee Dr Amita Dua, Dr Renu, Dr Mukesh Kumari, Dr Surekha, Dr Deepti Salotra and all the faculty members were present in the function. The celebration concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr Amita Dua.
