Bhaderwah Lavender Farmers registered on GeM Portal as sellers

 BHADERWAH, February 23: Department of Floriculture Doda and the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) held a workshop to facilitate on-boarding of Bhaderwah Lavender Farmers on GeM Portal.

The workshop focused on sensitising the farmers about the GeM portal.  A total of 18 farmers were successfully registered as sellers on the GeM portal.

 Jeetan Kumar from JKTPO and Harpreet Singh from Invest India explained to the farmers the uses of the GeM portal and how this can provide a marketplace to the producers. As lavender is One district One product (ODOP) for district Doda, a significant focus is on providing the farmers with marketplaces to directly sell their products.  Pawan Kumar (Assistant Floriculture Officer Doda) and Manujender Singh (MGN Fellow) were also present during the workshop.
