He asked the party functionaries to “make aware the people of the communal agenda of BJP and defeat the nefarious designs of communal, divisive and separatist forces.” He complimented the people of Jammu region for believing in togetherness and religious harmony despite grave provocations by vested interests.
Bhalla said that BJP government in its ten years of rule has ruined the country in every field. “Every section of the society is suffering due to its wrong policies and wrong decisions. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are the most sufferers. The Modi government has snatched the right of jobs and land from the people of J&K by downgrading a full-fledged state into Union Territory. The property tax, toll plazas, smart meters, unemployment has added more in the miseries of people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Bhalla added. He said that unemployment is increasing day by day. “The government in J&K, run by the administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has proved to be an utter failure on all fronts with common people were left to fend for themselves. The people crumbled due to multiple miseries under the proxy government of BJP in J&K,” Bhalla said.
Bhalla said that the people of Jammu region, who were “promised the moon” by the BJP, today feel betrayed by the party as it never proceeded beyond ‘jumlas’ creating merely false narratives to secure votes. He said even the BJP leaders know quite well that people of this region are waiting to teach them a lesson. BJP fears losing the elections whenever they are held. This is the reason that the government has adopted delaying tactics even in holding of the panchayat and ULB polls in J&K,” Bhalla said. Asserting that Congress is the only secular party in J&K, he said that only Congress’s rule in the UT can bring smiles back to the faces of people.
Bhalla expressed concern for the “overlooked plight” of the people in Jammu. He pointed out that the region, with its unique cultural and strategic significance, had often been sidelined in national discourse. He highlighted infrastructural gaps, inadequate social services, and economic disparities that have persisted over time. He stressed the necessity of tailored policies to address these specific challenges and ensure the holistic development of Jammu. He said Congress Party shall continue to fight against the anti-people policies of BJP Govt and vigorously fight for restoration of democratic setup in J&K.BJP is set to face humiliating defeat in the upcoming elections, as that, BJP’s divided and rule policy and misleading politics stands exposed with the result people have decided to throw BJP out of power.
District President Th. Manmohan Singh said Congress Party has fought for the rights of people and it will continue to fight for restoration of democratic set up and safeguarding just rights of people, he added and told the BJP Govt to shun the path of confrontation with the people, who are feeling isolated and disappointed over the way they are being treated by the Govt. He said BJP is treating people of J&K as enemies resulting in they have been left unrepresented and unheard in every respect. He slammed the Govt for failing to address extreme joblessness, economic losses, lack of development, failed back to back village initiatives after spending huge amount and many anti people measures in terms of imposing taxes, toll plazas and new drama of installing smart meters and said people are being punished on one pretext or the other aiming to hide utter failure on the part of BJP Govt. On this occasion Singh exhorted the Party cadres to get connected with the people and gear up for the parliament elections and ensure Party’s victory.
